(Childbirth Education practice, research &
theory, 2nd edition)
Private/Group Childbirth Education classes are available in South Toledo, OH
Childbirth Classes are great for anyone considering a birth center, hospital, or home birth.
You are welcome to start childbirth education classes at any time in your pregnancy. A typical series consists of 6 classes, which can be done weekly or bi-weekly. All of my students are welcome to a complementary postpartum visit from me. This is a wonderful opportunity to ask questions about yourself and recovery, your newborn, breastfeeding, bonding, etc.
I am a double-certified, independent instructor (I work for you!) - because of this I can.freely answer questions, provide information on any topic, and personalize my classes in a way that other instructors are not always permitted to do.
I do not teach one specific technique for childbirth. Instead, I offer a more eclectic alternative consisting of different techniques an expectant couple can use during labor and birth. Handouts are always provided and you are welcome to take these to the hospital, if needed.
I am available to my students all the time to answer questions, by phone or e-mail, during pregnancy and beyond.
Because I am an independent instructor I always tailor my classes to focus on the needs of my students.

Partners, parents, and any other support members are encouraged to attend. Classes are taught in a supportive atmosphere where young parents are free to ask questions, practice new techniques, and gain confidence in preparation for their new role as parents.

Are you soon to be a grandparent? Are you already a grandparent? This class focuses on giving grandparents and grandparents-to-be an overview of options available for birth, new techniques used on babies (and the old techniques that are still around!) and new-fangled baby products your grandbaby may be using. This will help you understand why some parents-to-be are choosing different birthing styles, help prepare you for handing a new baby again (and get you ready for babysitting if you're feeling a bit rusty), and even help you understand how and why to use some of that new equipment (or give you ideas for unique gifts your grandbaby may enjoy!)
This series covers the many different techniques used in 'natural parenting' today. Topics covered include natural childbirth, babywearing, cloth diapering, breastfeeding, extended breastfeeding, sign language, home made babyfood, alternatives to 'crying it out,' safe baby toys, vaccination vs. unvaccinated children, circumcision vs. uncircumcision, interactive parenting, massage, co-sleeping, finding support, feeding, baby communication and much more.
Right now this looks like a 3 class series but it may grow into a 6 class series to compliment the 6 week childbirth course.
