Homesteading Binders

This idea came to me one day when I was trying to organize the collection of articles and information I've been collecting on self sufficiency and homesteading.  I thought it might be nice to have everything nicely organized and easy to reach.

I have a large binder (3 inch, I believe) with a package of 31 numbered index dividers.  Each divider features a specific topic.  For each topic I contain all of the information that pertains to it and any notes I may have written.  For some items, such as raising meat rabbits, I have a hypothetical breeding/dispatching schedule and have calculated how many breeding stock I'd need, how often we'd need to breed and what times of the year we would slaughter depending upon the type of meat it would be. I've listed misc. calculations to determine how many pounds of meat we'd eat each year, a list of rabbit supply vendors, and am working on calculating the cost of raising rabbits and how much we'll save by raising our own meat.

My topic index goes a bit like this: definitions/information on homesteading/self sufficiency, home-made meals and ingredients, baking bread, soapmaking, home made cleaners, candlemaking, alternative energy resources, raising chickens for eggs and meat, cows for dairy and beef, tanning, canning, herbs/herbal remedies, cooking tips and techniques, hunting/gutting wild game and waterfowl, frugal ideas, home made items, gardening, and the list goes on.
